My Earl Grey Metheglyn, a wildflower mead spiced with Earl Grey*, orange peel, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and clove is finished out at a respectable 13.7% ABV. It's a beautiful golden color with floral honey and citrus notes. The taste of honey is balanced by a slightly spicy bite and round citrus notes in this semi-sweet brew.
It's not as sweet as my Black Dragon Metheglyn, but wonderful as a lighter, brighter summer brew, although I wouldn't be operating a garden tractor after enjoying it. I will be making this again. Tori and I will be bottling tomorrow morning.
*Earl Grey is a fine black tea infused with essence of the bergamot orange. It's said to induce vivid dreams when taken before bed.

One Step Closer
I've been prep cook and dishwasher, then came home to the kids and made pizza. I've walked 15,733 steps so far, which is over 4 miles.
I am meeting my goal of 10,000 steps each day I work and 5K to 7K on days off fairly consistently now. The best part is I don't hurt so much at the end of the day. There have been many I could barely walk after.
